What if My Child Asks to be Baptized?
If your child expresses interest in being baptized, we encourage you (as the parent) to listen to Pastor Ken’s teaching on Baptism and then speak with your child about their decision. We do not have a minimum age requirement for baptism but ask that parents use discernment in allowing their child to be baptized. If a child confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and understand what it means to be a follower of Christ, they may be baptized. If you would like to discuss your child’s readiness for baptism, please complete a Connect Form and a member of our Ministry Team will contact you.
Are Infants Baptized?
Some denominations choose to baptize infants. While we recognize the right of other churches to practice infant baptism, we understand Scripture to teach that only professing believers qualify for baptism. Baptism does not make you a believer; rather, it shows that you already believe. However, at Keystone we endeavor to follow the example of Jesus by welcoming little children into God’s kingdom with a Baby Dedication ceremony.
