What to Expect in Waumba Land
When you arrive, we will ask you to fill out a brief registration form and then a member of our host team will escort you to your child’s classroom. If you prefer, you can download our registration form fill it out and bring it with you when you visit.
We have a special ministry available at Keystone called One-2-One to help children with special needs. See our Special Needs page for more information.
We know that leaving your new baby for the first time in a new place can be overwhelming. Our volunteers have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all of the needs of your infant. Please label and bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and any special blankets that will help soothe your baby throughout the morning.
Toddlers & 2’s
This is a fun and active stage in your child’s life. We believe that even the smallest members of our church can begin to learn the amazing truths that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Every week your child will learn a Bible story, participate in activities that reinforce the Bible story, and enjoy a little snack (be sure to make us aware of any allergies). Be sure to label and bring extra diapers, a change of clothes and any other items (besides toys) your child may need for their time in Waumba Land.
3’s to Kindergarteners
First impressions are important. We use the First Look curriculum, and it is designed to give preschool children a first impression of their loving Heavenly Father. From crazy fun activities, to crafts, to large group Bible story, to worship time, to small group Bible time – it’s all part of the plan to help a child believe three key things by the time they leave Waumba Land: God made me - God loves me - Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our curriculum builds on the idea that spiritual growth is relationally driven. When you put another trusted adult in the life of a child, besides their parents, you provide an additional clear voice reinforcing core values. So, our strategy emphasizes small groups, making it easy to connect kids to mentors and leaders who can personally invest in them.
