Care Ministry

The Care Ministry focus is to serve those who are in a “special care” situation. If you are part of a Small Group, let us know if we have your permission to contact your group leader and notify them of your need. Your group may help provide support during this time. However, if you are not part of a Small Group or you have needs that go beyond the scope of what a Group can offer, the Care Ministry will walk alongside you.

Additionally, the Care Ministry responds to the needs in our church and community for education, resources and support.

Please contact Mavis Luurtsema, our Care Director, by email or call 734.944.5397 ext. 205, for any of the services listed below:

Home or Hospital Visits
Volunteers from our Care Ministry are available to visit with you at your home or at the hospital.

Meal Assistance
Sometimes when facing a stressful time, whether it be a family illness, loss or even bringing a new baby home, having a home-cooked meal delivered to you is a welcome relief and just one less thing for you to think about. Let the Care Ministry know of your need or if you know of someone in need of a meal.

Mentoring
Mentors are with you through through the difficult times in life, or when you just are looking for someone with more life experience or spiritual maturity to walk with you for a season. If you are looking for a mentor, or would like to be a mentor, please click here.

Pre-Marital Counseling
If you are planning to be married here at Keystone, our Pastoral staff requires your participation in pre-marital counseling. Use of an online questionnaire usually serves as the basis for generally four-six counseling sessions with one of our Pastors, including help in planning your marriage ceremony. If interested, please contact the church office to schedule your pre-marital counseling.

Counseling Referrals
There may be times in life when you feel you are facing a very difficult pathway to navigate on your own. Sometimes it helps to talk with a professional or a trained lay person who can help you bring clarity and truth to your situation. We have a working relationship with several Christian Counselors in Washtenaw and Lenawee Counties.

Benevolence Requests
A fund is available to offer assistance when you may face a temporary financial strain. Your need is reviewed by the Care Ministry and Pastoral staff to determine if your need meets the criteria for assistance. Community referrals are also provided.

Weddings
If you are interested in having your wedding at Keystone Church, please contact the church office at 734.944.5397 for details.

Funerals
For bereavement needs, please contact the church office at 734.944.5397 and we will be glad to assist you through this difficult time.
