FAQs

What exactly is a Group?

Groups create a space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. A Group Leader determines how often their group meets and what the focus of the group is. Groups gather in homes, coffee shops, and other places where people love to connect.

How do I join a Group?

First, give yourself a high five for taking the step to join a Group! Here are several easy ways to get connected:
• Visit the Connect Desk in the church lobby and talk to the staff or volunteers there.
• Find a Group near you or one that meets digitally using our online Group search tool.
• Talk to someone you know who leads a Group and ask if their group is open to new members.

What exactly do you do in a Group?

Every Group is unique. Some discuss the weekend message or go through a video-led Bible study together, some complete Bible Reading Plans, some serve together in the community, and some play board games or pickleball once a month. Two things you'll find in every Group, though, are relationships and conversations that help people grow in their faith.

Is it ok to "shop around" for a Group?

Absolutely! It's understandable to want to find people you feel comfortable opening up to and developing friendships with. That being said, if you've joined a Group and aren't sure if it's the right fit for you, don't give up. Keep in mind that there's no such thing as a perfect Group because there are no perfect people. Remember to have grace and patience during the process. If it's clear that this group isn't the best fit for you, though, give another group a try.

What if there's not a Group that I'm looking for?

This might be a sign that God is calling you to start a group! If God's placed a certain passion or calling within you, He might want you to take a step of faith and launch a Group around it. You won't have to do this alone, though. Your Groups team is here to support you every step of the way.
